This
Nano-Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (NPCC)
product has been designed for use as a
reinforcing additive in plastics such as PP and PE.
Unlike normal micron sized additives,
which have a detrimental effect on the
impact strength of the polymers, NPCC-201
results in a significant improvement in
the impact strength, along with increases
in flexural modulus and tensile strength.
NPCC-201 can be used to partially replace
existing reinforcing additives such as CPE
and existing elastomeric
reinforcing agents used in PP, resulting
in lower formulation costs.
NPCC-201 can be used in its powder form
but is best introduced in the form of a
masterbatch for enhanced dispersion. A
good dispersion of the NPCC in the matrix
is needed to realize the full benefits of
using the NPCC.
