This Nano-Precipitated Calcium Carbonate
(NPCC) product is designed for use as
special functional filler/additive in
architectural paint. NPCC-111 can be added
as a functional filler or opacifier in
paint and coating with exceptional
rheological properties. Under high shear,
NPCC-111 exhibits shear thinning in the
coating, making it flow easily and
facilitating the application of the
coating onto a surface. Once shear is
removed, viscosity returns enabling the
coating to adhere to the surface without
sagging or running.
NPCC-111 can be used to partially replace
titanium dioxide while maintaining similar
hiding power, whiteness and finish.
Studies have shown that up to 20% of the
TiO2 can be replaced without
affecting the hiding power, while
improving the thixotropic properties of
the paint.
